My name is Shantal, and I am an advocate for early learning and quality education for essential student success and achievement. I believe that children need to lead their own experiences and learn through discovery. I am a firm believer in providing a safe and inclusive environment to children and families.
I have had 6 years of experience in the field of early childhood education and have been exposed to several approaches and curriculums, from day care facilities to Ontario school boards.
As a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) I believe. that play is important to children, because play practices their linguistic, social, cognitive skills and also contributes to their emotional well being. Therefore, framing personality and cognitive development. Play also supports a child’s development in several ways. I believe each student in unique and should be respected for what he or she has to offer to the learning environment. I believe through nurturing children they learn best in an environment that is safe and inclusive.
The relationships between children, their families and I are necessary for building relationships that are responsive and inclusive to students and their learning.
