About Me
Hi.
I am a graduate of the University of Windsor, as well as George Brown College. I am currently still attending George Brown. I am on track to become an American Sign Language Interpreter. In university I took several courses that had to deal with providing aid, being a mentor as well as working with people who face disadvantages in everyday life (whether they are avoidable or not). This lead me to wanting to become a Sign Language Interpreter. Ideally, once I have finished my schooling I am interested in working in the school system with Deaf children.
I have extensive experience working with children. For over a year, I have been volunteering at a Peel elementary school in the music room. I was responsible for leading the class as well as some private instructing sessions. I also took on a large role in helping coordinate the Christmas concert. I was responsible for the "behind the scenes" action. This involved ensuring that students were ready to go onto stage when it was their turn to perform and that they were "warmed up". In the past, I have also volunteered with the nursery, day care and youth groups at my old church. I also helped lead a one week camp program during the summer for under privileged youth.
Currently, I live at home with my parents and brother and dog. I work at Canadian Tire part time in the summer. My interests include music, reading, movies, biking, gardening and baking.
Thanks for taking the time to read my profile. I hope to hear from you.- Education: Undergraduate degree
