Job Description
Hi there! We are a busy family of four, with 2 sons aged 12 and 14. I am a doctor working in Vancouver and my husband is a carpenter. We also have two very friendly huskies. We moved to Squamish in August and the boys school is less than a 5 minute walk from our house.
We are looking for some support during the work week with housekeeping (vacuuming, laundry, tidying), meal prepping (dinners for the family and healthy snacks for the kids) and, very importantly, someone to help keep the boys on track with their homework and after school tutoring, offering support as needed. We may also need you to let the dogs out and back in from the backyard to go to the washroom, but will not require you to walk them.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who can come in Monday through Friday in the afternoon (1:00PM-4:00PM or 2:00PM-5:00PM) to complete the above tasks.
We are looking for someone responsible, reliable and friendly, preferably with some cooking skills, experience working with older, fairly independent kids who require some support to stay on track and someone who is comfortable with pets.

Important Information
The main role of a nanny is to provide a safe, caring, nurturing and stimulating environment in which the children thrive and develop. General responsibilities include undertaking tasks related to the children’s care which evolve as kids grow. Attentive, high quality childcare includes planning the children’s daily schedule, play and development activities appropriate to the child's age. In addition typically nannies are responsible for meal preparation for the kids, and keeping the children’s areas neat and tidy.
Being a nanny means becoming a member of a household. Communicating with the family and clarifying their expectations is one of the most important aspects. No family is the same, and following their lead is key in succeeding through the interview and hiring process.
