Dear Family, My name is Vanessa. I am an 18 year-old Canadian student. Although I currently live in Oakville, where I will be graduating with honours in June of 2015, I will shortly be moving to the Burlington area near Lakeshore Road. I am taking a year off school in order to work full time and send myself to law school in England. I come from a family of 5: My father is involved in business in electronic sales, and my mother was a stay at home mom. I have two older siblings, a brother and a sister. My sister Victoria, is 20 years old and is in school to become a psychologist at Western University. My brother is 24 years old and is school for an engineering degree at York University. In 2016, I hope to go to Cambridge or Oxford University to study pre-law with an eventual degree to practice family law. My first language is English, and I also studied French up until grade eleven, and speak at an intermediate level of French. I begun learning French in kindergarten and have been taking French language classes ever since. I have studied child-care in both a formal and informal context. Last year, I took a psychology (child psychology focused) and also a families studies class. Among others, I provided care to children aged between 1 to 11 years. I cooked, cleaned, and took part in recreational indoor and outdoor activities with them: we sang, danced, played games, drew, painted, read books and completed all necessary homework . I have always loved children and since I got my babysitters license when I was 12 years old, caring for children has been a passion of mine. I can comfortably say that I sincerely enjoy spending time with children. When it comes to leisure activities, I take pleasure in simple activities. I love the outdoors, being with my friends and family, going for walks, traveling, and reading. I also love to paint and draw to relieve stress when I have spare time.
