About Me
I am an energetic 41 year old health professional who is accountable, reliable and trust-worthy. Outside of my professional life I enjoy participating in various active pursuits (e. g. mountain biking, alpine backcountry skiing, trail running, swimming) and am an advocate for living a healthy and active lifestyle. I have never drank alcohol, used tobacco products or used any illegal drugs. I am not the party type. My social time is spent mostly in the mountains being active with friends. It is a dream of mine to work and live in the mountains.
In 1996, I completed a Bachelor of Physical & Health Education degree (specializing in Health Promotion) and in 1999 I completed a Master of Science degree (specializing in Exercise Physiology). In addition, I am one assignment away from completing my Project Management certificate with Mount Royal University.
In November 2014, I resigned from my Provincial Program Coordinator position in Public Health with Alberta Health Services (I was based in Calgary). After almost 7 years in that role and over 18 years working in Health Promotion/ Health Sciences Research (at the University of Alberta, Oregon Research Institute and the former Alberta Cancer Board in coordinating and managing projects/programs) I needed a change and I did just that. For 6 months I traveled through the mountains in the USA, Chile & Argentina. I am now looking for a change in career.
All of my educational and employment experiences have demanded a commitment to high standards of ethical and professional conduct, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, resourcefulness, and the ability to work collaboratively and independently. Such demands and challenges are what I expect of myself and what I look for in my career.- Education: Some college
