About Me
I went to George Brown College for Culinary Management, where I gained tons of experiences working with many different types of foods. I then continued on to a post-graduate program in Food and Nutrition Management. Through my post-grad I had a 4 week placement where I worked with a company called Kids & Company. There I was the Food and Nutrition Intern, I created healthy and kid friendly recipes, as well as organized and updated their allergy database, to help ensure that each child with an allergy was recorded.
I spent 6 summers working for an over-night camp near Ottawa, Camp Gesher. 2 out of the 4 years were spent as a Camp counsellor, planning educational activities and supervising campers ages 7-14. The other 4 years were spent working in the kitchen, a strictly kosher kitchen, as the camp Chef and later one the Chef and kitchen manager. While Chef and Kitchen Manager I was responsible for ordering food and leading a kitchen staff that would help me feed 200 people, many of who were either vegetarian, gluten/dairy/soy/egg, celiac and more.
Through out my time in school and out of school I have had the opportunity to work as an after-school teacher for children aged 5-11. I have had quite a few private catering gigs and have even done meal planning for a private family and meal execution. I have a lot of experience working with food, adults and children, hence why I am interested in this position.
I am currently living in downtown Toronto, looking for part-time work. I love animals, especially cats. I love to stay active by running, going to the gym and hanging out outside. I have a great talent for arts and crafts and I love cooking and knitting. I am very easy-going and great at following instructions. My schedule is quite flexible as I am looking for part-time work.- Education: Graduate degree
