I am an Early Childhood Educator /Seneca College, Early Childhood Music Specialist/Ryerson, Royal Conservatory of Music, Brain Gym 101 instructor, entrepreneur, mother of 4 university educated children, two girls, two boys, 25 years experience as educator in the field of early childhood education. music teacher JK to grade 6. I have a current police check, First Aid and CPR. I have a current driving license and a good driving record.
I enjoy an active lifestyle which includes a balance of sports; tennis, baseball, road hockey, horse back riding, creative endeavors; water colour painting, flower arranging, community events ; culture and performing arts, fine art exhibits, quiet pastimes: reading, crochet, writing poetry. Very organized, involve children in self help and contribution to working as a family to care for one another and cleaning up after themselves. Patient, skilled, child centred and considerate of individual needs and temperment. Good behaviour management skills, redirect energy to appropriate and constructive outlet. Ensure children are limited on screen time in its various forms. Work closely with parents to instill good manners, mutual respect and dignity so that everyone has a voice in appropriate areas of decision making and activity planning. Firm and fair, friendly and fun. Handle challenging moments with calm and objective wisdom. I able to diffuse frustrations and enhance self awareness and problem solving in children.
