About Me
I am a 24 year old graduate from McGill University. I completed a Bacherlor`s of Education in Kindergarten and Elementary Education. Prior to this, I completed the two year program in child studies in Cejep and have volunteer experience with children. I have tutored children from 6 to 8 years of age and I have assisted in a daycare with children from 18months to 4 years of age.
I am a very loving and sensitive person who is responsible and patient with children. My main motto when it comes to education and care giving for children is; to be firm, fun, patient but never mean or lose your temper. Each child learns and understands at a different rate and deserves patience as well as understanding by the educator/caregiver. I am very enthusiastic and love to make anything fun. I also am very interested and informed on nutrition and the psychology aspect of child education. What I really love is making/seeing others happy. I speak English, French and Greek fluently.
My favorite quote is, "Be the change you wish to see in the world." by Mahatma Gandhi. This is my overall philosophy in life. The change I want to see in the world is, people understanding the importance of educating and raising children the right way. There is no 'one' right way to raise a child, but there are certain very important elements which one must consider. Early childhood education comprises itself not only of having children acquire new knowledge, but also the building of one's character, confidence, self-esteem and drive to learn. It is a very delicate stage in life. We are raising the next generation, a new society; it must be done very carefully and thoughtfully. Once we (caregivers/teachers) are done raising them, the rest of the world must deal with them.- Education: Undergraduate degree
