Hi. I am a caring, compassionate 27 year old who relocated to Calgary in May 2014 from Northern Ontario. I have an Honours Arts Degree with a major in Social Development Studies from The University of Waterloo. I have over 3 years experience working professionally with families and young children. I currently work as a Home Visitor for Closer to Home Community Services, where I provide families with parenting strategies, child development activities, information on parent-child attachment and community resources. Previously, I coordinated programs for a Family Resource Centre for children ages 0-6, which promoted developmental milestones, early learning and family bonding. I have a passion for working with children and understand the importance of consistency, warmth, structure and creating a positive and fun atmosphere for children to learn. I have taken various training related to parenting and children, including topics such as, positive discipline, early brain development, and attachment, I have my First Aid and Safe Food Handling.
In my spare time I enjoy cooking, volunteering, yoga, reading and spending time outdoors. I have excellent time management, organizational and communication skills.
