Hello there, my name is Petra. I've been taking care of my elderly mother-in-law who was sick for a long time and I was helping her with basic care, such as preparing her meals, light housekeeping, shopping, helping her shower, dress, give her medication. When she's in hospital, I was visiting her every day to spend some time and let her know that we care, which, I think, is the most important thing. I've been also working with other seniors with various needs, helping them to stay as independent as possible and make their life little easier. I find this work rewarding and I feel that there are other seniors who need help with things that are too difficult to manage for them, who need somebody to take them out for a walk, see their doctor or do their shopping, or just read a book or have a talk. And that's why I'm here.
