Hi parents.
My name is Nathalie and I am a newly graduated Registered Nurse who will be fully licensed by July.
My specialty is pediatrics, and I hope to one day be a member of the hard-working nursing team at SickKids. I have just moved to the Toronto area after completing school in Oshawa, but am originally from a small town outside of Ottawa called Arnprior (this is where my family is). My whole life I have grown up being the neighborhood babysitter caring for children ages 5 months to 13 years. I have always known that I was meant to work with kids - their carefree, enthusiastic and loving personalities as well as their sense of innocence is really rather addicting. I have been employed at a chidlren's centre as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) working with kids with disabilities for the past two years. Here I cared for children and adolescents ages 4-18 with either physical, developmental, or cognitive disabilities. Being a PSW has taught me how to be patient, understanding, and most of all has enhanced my ability to be a compassionate and loving care provider. I am very physically fit and outgoing, and therefore enjoy engaging children in as many games and activities as possible. Other interests of mine include cooking and baking. I recently spent 4 months (January to April) as a nursing student on a pediatric floor in the Oshawa hospital (Lakeridge Health) where I learned a lot more about caring for children and infants ages 0-18 with various medical and surgical diagnoses. I am a responsible and reliable individual, and truly have a strong ability to connect with children. Thanks for reading and I hope that you will consider me for your family. :)
