Background:
I am an easy going individual who enjoys children. I have helped take care of them throughout my life as I have 8 younger cousins, 2 nieces, a nephew, and a lovely girlfriend with a 5 year old son. Children are our future and setting them up for success is one of the most important tasks we have as adults who have been in their shoes. I know that family means so much. I used to cook with my grandma every week and have an unbelievable family that has instilled in me incredible morals and values. I have been a part of various programs where our main purpose was to help children succeed and teach them right from wrong. These programs include:
The Portland Urban Ministry Project (PUMP) where we set up activities, assisted in reading development, and made sure meals were provided for underprivileged children.
Elementary School Tutoring. In this position I met with students having trouble with mathematics and reading. I tutored these children in these topics as well as assisted them in any questions they had.
A VBS Chaperone where I was in charge of the safety of 8 or more children while providing them with an exciting and interactive experience.
I have up to date certifications in CPR, First Aid, and AED. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration as well as over 5 years of work experience in positions from tour guiding to working in the corporate environment.
Family Status:
I am striving to make my home in Calgary or surrounding areas so that I can be with my girlfriend and her son. We are ready to start our lives together in the same city and be a family. She is a wonderful mother with an amazing child.
Interests:
I am an avid hockey fan and have been playing for over 20 years. I love the outdoors, helping with homework, and of course playing games.
