About Me
I came to Canada in 2006 under the Live-in caregiver program. I look after a 3 year old boy and was then unborn baby boy and stayed with that family for 4 years.
I got my open work permit in 2010 and worked as a Sales Associate at ToysRUs/BabiesRUs for almost 2 years. While working as a Sales Associate, I was also taking up ECE at Sprott-Shaw College. After I got my certificate and license I was hired by a non-profit organization, Developmental Disabilities Association, under their Child and Youth Services.
I have worked with kids from newborn to preschool, in a daycare and school setting, kids who were typically growing and kids that needs extra support. I am halfway in acquiring my Diploma in Early Child Care Education in Special Needs. Because of lack of money I had to stop midway. I still plan to pursue my studies though.
As of now I am a permanent part time ECE in one of DDA's Centre, at Berwick Child Development Centre, in UBC.

I met Melinda at Berwick as co-worker. Melinda is a cheerful and friendly person. She has a genuine love for children and can easily bond with a child in her care. She is also with a great sense of humour. She is a positive team player. I like to have her as a friend.
