    Hi!

    My name is Maria, I am a fourth year engineering student at Carleton University looking to be a nanny for the summer. I am joyful, creative, energetic, kind and I love working with children. Parents often tell me that it's unusual for their child to warm up to a stranger so fast, so it's fair to say that children really like me too.

    I grew up in a Catholic household in Mexico City. My dad is an ICU doctor and my mum is the president of the board of a daycare for children of low-income families. I moved to Canada almost four years ago.

    In my free time I enjoy spending time with my friends by going for walks along the Rideau Canal, cooking, backing, painting, playing board games, building puzzles, dancing, going to the gym, going to the cinema and watching TV series. I also enjoy reading and singing.

    In addition, I am an active member of a university student movement across Canada called Catholic Christian Outreach (CCO), which focuses on challenging students to live in the fullness of the Catholic faith with a strong emphasis on becoming leaders in the renewal of the world. Once I graduate, I would like to work with CCO as a full-time missionary for a couple of years, then hopefully do a masters and start my own organization that focuses on helping communities develop sustainably.
