I am educated yet casual. I have eight years university education, training in elementary education and a bachelor's degree in English and Anthropology. While raising my own kids, I started a daycare to help a family in my daughter's kindergarten class. and allow me to stay home with her and my son. Then for the last five years I also cared for my mom who was dying of Alzheimer's.
I gathered many diverse clients over the years, and they appreciated me for my love and flexibility as their care provider. I love to be active and involved in the community so that's what the kids get with me. Largely that meant the multicultural community here in Nanaimo. My other priority is time in nature and active play. Beaches, trails, playgrounds and community activities were our daily pursuits. I have always operated as licence not required to avoid the sometimes confining beyond reason limits set forth for larger institutional and even family daycares. I also have hosted various ages of international students and tutored many children and adults, including ESL. I am excited to see what the next chapter in my life brings. Willing to move and embrace new situations.
