I am a student at Dalhousie University working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Gender and Women's studies. I have been taking care of children since I was 13 and began babysitting my younger sister after school. I took a St. John's Ambulance Babysitting course, and then started watching some of the younger kids on my street and in my neighbourhood. I have some experience with children with special needs as well. I am an avid reader, and animal lover. I volunteer with the Dalhousie Swim Society to teach various groups, some of which are composed of children, basic swimming skills. Having been watched by many different caregivers as a child, I understand the importance of having a good, kind, attentive person watching your children and what a difference it can make in a child's life.
