Dear Family,
My name is Lizzy and I was born on May 8, 1991 in Ajax, Ontario. When I enrolled in the Community Worker program at George Brown College, I excitedly decided to move to Toronto. For a year I lived in the downtown core of the city, I later moved to the Yonge and Eglington area and I have now recently moved to the Koreatown and Christie Pits area. I live with my boyfriend and our two adopted senior cats. I love exploring the city, trying new restaurants and volunteering within the community. In the future, I am planning to further my education and become a nurse.
My favourite hobby is music and singing. I currently sing for a funk band and we play various gigs throughout the GTA. I am also passionate for health and fitness. You can commonly find me at the gym, cooking new healthy recipes, running outdoors or checking out a yoga class.
I have also been lucky enough to spend a lot of time travelling. When I was in high school, I volunteered in a small rural-town in Costa Rica, after graduation I backpacked by myself through Ireland, Spain and France, and last year I completed my Community Worker field placement in Cuba.
I started babysitting various families when I was 14 years old. I have always been a nurturing individual, so I wanted to work in an environment where I could build upon that. Those early experiences helped me learn and gain the confidence to care for children of all ages. I continued babysitting part-time throughout high school and after graduation I expanded to working in daycare facilities. Finally, last year on summer break I was fortunate to be a nanny for a wonderful Toronto family. As a whole, I have cared for children from the age of 6 months to 12 years old.
I love to be active with the children I am caring for. I enjoy and am confident visiting parks, splash pads, pools, libraries, beaches, neighbourhood events and attractions. In the home I love to read stories, play imagination games, help with homework and make crafts. Besides providing direct care to children, I am also willing to assist with light housekeeping such as cleaning up after children, laundry, meal preparation, tidying play areas etc. I am very responsible and have a proven record of punctuality.
I am a nurturing, patient and energetic person with an extensive amount of childcare experience and I am dedicated to providing children in my care with a safe, trusting, fun and educational environment. I would love to work for a family where I am able to apply my strengths and talents as a caregiver, in order to assist the children develop to their greatest potential.
