Hi, I am Karen Joy Valenzuela, a Filipina. I was a nurse back home. I worked as an elder caregiver for almost 2 years here in Canada. I have taken care of a diabetic elderly for 11months. I have also experienced taking care of Elderly with Dementia and depression for 8 months. In both employment duties done were: making and accompanying clients to doctor's appointment, preparing meals, checking blood pressure, assisting with bath and grooming, administering oral medications, providing companionship, and assisting with exercises to promote and maintain mobility. I also communicated with patient's family about any unusualities or progress. I am also willing to learn and enhance personal care giving skills and other duties related to it.
