When I was in high school, I was an after school tutor for kids from kindergarten until grade 6. I have lots of experience caring for my nephews who are one and three years old and I have been caring for them since they were born. I am comfortable taking children on outings, cooking meals for them, doing homework with them, art, physical activities, etc. I went to UBC in Vancouver and have my Bachelor's in Developmental Psychology and focused on children five months to two years. I have also applied for the Child Life Studies program at McMaster.
I love being active outdoors (playing soccer, throwing a ball around, and/or going for walks). I enjoy making art, reading and puzzles, and baking. But I also love getting cozy on the couch and reading a good book. With younger children (infants) I am very good at picking up on cues and learning how they show what they need. I try to let the child dictate what they like and find fun ways to combine their desires into our time.
I think children are the most important aspect of our society and they deserve the best treatment anyone can offer.
