My name is Floriane. I am a 26 years old single lady leaving with my younger sister at the moment. I am from Burundi, a small French speaking country in central Africa. I am in Canada on a visitor visa.
I love working with seniors as I was the one looking after my grandmother home. When my grandmother got sick she came to live with us and there I was the one cleaning and showering her, helping her with food and taking care of her hygiene.
I do love kids as well. I looked after my little cousins, nieces and nephews when I was back in Bujumbura, Burundi's capital city. This involved looking after them, giving them food, playing with them and helping them with homework if needed. When I visited Kenya, our family friend's had a toddler whom I looked after when his mother had appointments here and there. I have helped couple times my sister's friend who is a student at the moment with her two kids when she needed it.
I was studying Social work in Burundi in the hope of becoming a social assistant in the nursing home or for special needs kids or adults, but I did not get to finish because I had to travel to Canada for medical reasons. I was getting cornea transplants because as a little I got diagnosed with Keratoconus, a degenerative disorder of the eye in which structural changes within the cornea cause it to thin and change to a more conical shape than the more normal gradual curve. This was shrinking up my sight. Now that I am almost done with my surgery, I would want to work and help my sister and myself.
I believe that Canada is a land of opportunities. I am looking for a family who has a senior living with them or a family with young kids. I am open for living in or out and open to discuss salary.
I speak fluent French and I have a basic English that I am improving through ESL classes.
