My name is Elisa Deantes and I am a first-year student at the University of McGill, working towards a major in Political Science and a minor in International Relations. I was born and raised in Mexico until the age of 13. At the age of 13, I left home to go to a boarding school in Switzerland. This is where I learned french and visited a vast majority of European countries. After my year in Switzerland I went back home for a year. At the age of 15, I left once again to a boarding school in St. Catherines, Ontario, where I further developed my english. The year after that, I left for another boarding school in Sherbrooke, Quebec, where I stayed for the past two years. I moved around a lot because I have always had a passion for traveling and meeting new people, as well as learning about new cultures. I come from a family of 4, my parents and my sister. Although it is hard to be away from them, I always remind myself that efforts are always rewarded. I love drawing, sculpting, and going to the gym. I also enjoy outdoors activities and sports. One of my biggest passions is kids and caregiving. I have always enjoyed being around them and taking care of them. For the past two summers I have been doing babysitting (from babies to 11 year-olds) and I also worked at a summer camp for kids aged 4-15 as a camping advisor. I was in the pool with them whenever there was swimming activities and different sports. I was in charge of the kids' security and well being (making sure they had proper meals, accompanying them to the bathroom, and taking them to their cars when their moms arrived to pick them up) As you can imagine, I speak various languages and I am a very open minded and responsible person. I am always determined towards all the commitments I make.
