Hi there.
My name is Bonnie and I am currently a university student studying child psychology in the hopes of becoming an elementary school teacher. As a teaching student, I am required to maintain a clear criminal record and have an updated First Aid/CPR certification annually. Many of my past work experiences have involved children: throughout high school I tutored, babysat, and worked at day camps, and now in university I consistently work in schools as a student teacher, and I also nanny on the side and in the summer. I think you can never get enough experience with kids which is why I'd love to continue working as a nanny for a new family during my summer break from May - August.
When I am not working with children or doing school work, you can usually find me outside. During the winter I volunteer at a local yoga studio to keep active, but in the summer I love hiking, walking my dog, swimming, canoeing, and gardening. I think having time outside is so important, especially for kids, so you can expect a lot of outdoor activities involving your kids if you hire me.
I should also mention that I am comfortable working with any age group, and quickly accommodate to children with exceptionalities. In the past, I have worked with twins (16 months), children prone to choking (16 months), and children with hearing and speaking impairments (4 years). I have no preference as far as age is concerned, but do prefer working with only 1 - 3 children at a time. When children are napping or having quiet time, you can expect me to do light cleaning and/or maintain the level of cleanliness in your home.
I am interested in finding a family that needs help 3 - 5 days per week during the summer months. Rates are determined based on number of children and hours needed.
