About Me
I am a friendly person from Uganda, East Africa, but I have lived and worked in very distinct places across the United States and Colombia South America. In the US, I used to work in an After-School Program in Camden New Jersey, very tough city, but we created space for kids to read, write, do homework, eat a healthy snack, play, and just be kids in a place where it is difficult to be a child, and easy to forget your childhood. I love children, playing with them and sharing my passion for reading with them. I don't mind ages, or their physical inabilities. Although I am not trained to work with children with disabilities, I am always open-minded to try out something new. I learn from experience. I am currently a student at University of Waterloo, studying peace and conflict at a graduate level. My experience learning about the armed conflict in Colombia for two years inspired me to go that direction of peace and development work. That's where I also learned to speak Spanish. So, I am looking for clients who speak English and Spanish. I am dependable and I love cooking as well or preparing food for kids. I worked as a live-in nanny in Philadelphia, that's how I managed to pay for my remaining tuition at Eastern University. In short, I have lots of stories and experience working with kids. You will find me a very decent human being who enjoys being human with others.
