About Me
Hello,
My name is Anya. I am currently studying history and world religion at McGill University but I am transferring to Carleton. I am looking for a summer job and a part-time job during the school year. I was born in Ottawa. My younger brother has autism which allowed me, at a young age, to become very mature and compassionate. I have grown up with autistic children all my life. Just last summer, I worked as a camp counselor at Camp Kaleidoscope in Ottawa, which is a camp solely for disabled children from ages 4-21. The job was very challenging but I enjoyed it very much. Before this, I worked for two consecutive summers at a day program for seniors with alzheimer's and dementia at Harmer House, also in Ottawa. I obtained the Harmer House position through volunteering there for two years. I have had a lot of experience working with seniors. I truly enjoyed my experience working at an old age home and gained many skills through this experience such as patience, perceptiveness, and confidence. I used to be a competitive classical singer from the age of 13-18 and I have been in choirs since the age of 8. I am very musical and connect well with people through music. I also did contemporary dance for 4 years and am currently enjoying savate kick boxing; I am a very active person. I tend to connect very well with children as I am very silly at times and love Pixar movies. I am a very hard worker and I truly enjoy working and connecting with people. I am also certified in nonviolent crisis intervention.- Education: Graduate degree
