I’m 39 years old, married, with no children of my own, but I have 9 wonderful nieces and nephews, and many other children who affectionately call me Auntie, or Miss Alissa. I have years of experience (I started doing childcare when I was 11 years old); it is work that has always come naturally to me. I am kind, thoughtful, nurturing, on the quieter side yet curious and engaged. I love to laugh, am steady under pressure, and most importantly: I love children. I enjoy sharing my love for cooking, nature, art and mindfulness with little ones, and am good with any age.
I recently transitioned away from my 15 year long career as a professional sign language interpreter after Covid hit, and continue to teach yoga and meditation online. (I am currently teaching online classes a couple of times a week, but am flexible with my hours.) My love for babies drew me to complete Doula training with Doulas of North America many years ago (I am not currently offering prenatal on-call doula series, but can offer postpartum care for babies and new mothers). Great references for nannying are available.
I am looking for a family who is a good fit, who wants someone who is both professional (I get the job done well), yet is invited into the family. I generally accept work for one child, but can be flexible depending on the circumstance. Is that you?

* I am currently booked with a family 3 days a week until mid-Dec, and have 1-1.5 days a week to offer. I am booking part-time to full-time positions starting the end of December or Jan. 2021
