As a history major at Kings College, University of Western Ontario, I am preparing for a future career in educating children. I have spent many hours in a classroom setting working with, teaching and observing students and have realized that this is where I want to focus my efforts. In addition, I have been actively involved in various youth organizations throughout my life in both a volunteer, coaching and work capacity.
Over the past five years I have worked with a wide range of children from ages 3-12 yrs. old, in various different settings. I started working with the City of Kawartha Lakes as a leader at an all-girls camp called Sugar and Spice, where I ran many fun and exciting girly crafts and activities. At the end of the summer I was offered a job at the Boys and Girls Club working in the before and after school programs. My duties were to cook the children breakfast and dinner, and plan exciting educational and active games. The following summer I worked at the Boys and Girls Club as a Senior Leader for the Specialty Creative Summer Camp. The weeks were filled with cooking, art, music and much more. This past summer I was promoted to Summer Camp Supervisor of the Sports Camp. As Camp Supervisor I planned a summer of fun and exciting sport specific activities while managing two leaders and watching over thirty children. I also had to get my bus license so that I could drive campers to offsite activities.
I am fun, energetic and reliable. I am passionate about working with children. Each day spent with me will be filled with something new and exciting. I look forward to hearing from you, if you feel I would be a good fit for your family.
