About Me
I am an aspiring french immersion elementary school teacher! I have my bachelor of arts in French and am enrolled in the education after degree program at Concordia University of Edmonton. Currently, I am a swimming instructor for the city of Edmonton and have been teaching swimming for over four years. As a swimming instructor, I evaluate children, answer concerns of patrons of all ages, and need to be alert at all times to prevent any life-threatening injuries. For lessons,I need to lead a variety of games to keep the children engaged while teaching a new skill. In addition, this past summer I assisted summer camps at Progressive Academy. Here, I assisted the students in activities, went on field trips and lead group games. Lastly, in my first year as an education student, I have learnt both how children learn and the various ways we can assist them to adhere to the whole child. Being in my four week practicum in a grade two classroom has taught me a variety of games, crafts and other skills that enhanced the engagement of the students and built positive relationships. My various knowledge of games, lesson planning, group supervision and being fluent in a second language will be perfect for this occupation!
