My name is Kelsey and I am just finishing my second year at the University of Calgary. I am doing a combined degree in Biochemistry and Mathematics and I hope to eventually go to med school to become a radiologist.
This summer, I am working part-time at the university as a research assistant, so I am looking for another part time job (2-3 days a week). My hours there are quite flexible, so I am available most days, including weekends. I live in the southeast, but I am willing to travel to other parts of the city as well.
I come from a huge family with lots of younger cousins, and I also have two younger sisters of my own, so I have a lot of experience keeping little kids busy. I have been babysitting for as long as I can remember and I have experience caring for children of all ages. I love playing games, doing crafts, and baking and cooking.
A few summers ago I had the opportunity to care for a nine year old boy with special needs. Although it involved a large amount of patience, it was one of my favorite summer jobs I have ever had. It taught me how to be more flexible and how to be a better communicator with children.
In my free time, I like to do yoga, hike and play intramural flag football with my friends. I am a huge sports fan and I love to watch basketball, football, hockey (anything really) with my family. I also volunteer at the food bank and with an organization called Made by Momma, which works to provide support to families in crisis throughout the city.
