About Me
I graduated from University in April 2014 and was enrolled in Gerontology.
I have previously volunteered/internship at Community Nursing Home from 2008-2010. I also completed my internship at St. Joseph’s Villa in Sudbury, Ontario in 2012. I have taught elder’s activities such as exercise, crafts, bingo and one on one visits/outings for over four years. I have also helped older adults with feeding, changing daily clothing and lifts/transfers from their wheelchairs to their bed and couches.
I have also given one on one care to an older adult that suffers from Dementia. I helped him with his personal care and provided him with stimulating activities to keep his mind active and use his motor skills.
When it comes to children, I have worked with children between the ages of fifteen months to fifteen years of age for over 9 years. I have choreographed dance between the ages of four to eighteen years of age. Some of my work experience includes being a teaching assistant at Trillium Montessori School in Markham and a camp counsellor at the YMCA of Niagara.
I am creative and motivated to help individual’s with their essential needs.
I have strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
I have been a member of S.T.A.R (Students Together Against Racism) for more than 5 years.
I have my Standard First Aid, CPR level C + AED and am High Five Certified.- Education: Undergraduate degree
