Hello, my name is Katie. I am fun, energetic, and patient. I grew up with a passion for caring and I believe that it’s important for everyone to be looked after properly no matter the age. I am a recent graduate from the Nursing program at Algonquin College. I am very excited and hope to work in either the mom/baby unit at the hospital or in surgery. I just finished my consolidation at hospital, where I looked after both mother and baby post-delivery. There is no better feeling in the world than holding a baby who is only a few hours old. I am hoping to work as a nanny this summer/fall until I get my nursing registration in September. Although I will be registered late September, most nursing positions start very casual - therefore I am hoping to keep my nanny position. Aside from health care I have also worked with children for many years. I was a teacher assistant in a grade 2/3 classroom - I loved it. I love watching children learn and play, nothing beats the smile that they wear ear to ear. I also have lots of TWIN experience too. I cared for a couple of different families with newborn twins and preemies :) One family I stayed with until they were almost 2 years old. Needless to say this opportunity has helped me develop my multitasking skills and patience. As for my hobbies I love to cook, bake, sew, and be active outside (biking, walking, skating, swimming etc. ) I am very easy to get along with and face challenges as an opportunity to learn.
