My name is Michelle and I am currently working full-time as a home visitor for a Healthy Families program in Edmonton, where I work with prenatal women and first time moms in areas of child development, parent-child attachment, etc. I am looking for very part-time, evening work maybe twice a week (5pm - 9pm at the latest) with a family that is ok having to work around a full-time work schedule. I have experience working with infants, children, youth and adults in settings such as daycare and child care centers in fitness facilities. I also have experience working with children, youth and adults with physical and developmental disabilities in residential group homes that required 24-hour care.
I have had opportunities through my education to have an eight month placement at ABC Head Start, an organization that provides preschool education to children from low-income families. At this placement, I worked directly with the children in a classroom setting, their parents in a parent-group, as well as both child and parent together in the home.
I am Canadian, born and raised in the Edmonton area. When not busy working I enjoy traveling as much as I can to experience new cultures, new cities, and new people. I also enjoy practicing yoga, kayaking, reading, and spending time with friends and family. I am comfortable around pets and have grown up with everything from lizards to cats, dogs, and horses.
