Hello.
My name is Nancy, I was born and raised in Canada. I myself am known for being very outgoing, energetic, patient and calming. I have a very sweet and loving personality that always goes so well with young children.
I am 20 years old, soon to be 21, and I currently decided to become a part time student (schooling on Tuesdays and Wednesdays) to be able to continue part-time Nanny work. I currently live with my family in Toronto.
I have invested much of my time into school and in Child Care work. My interests vary. I am big on literature, sports, and dancing, and anything really fun and adventurous.
Philosophy:
I truly love children, so I will start with that. I have always had connections and laughter and I really prefer working with them than doing anything else with my time for they matter. Patience isn't even a question as I don't consider it patience as I do willingness to understand and cope. I am huge on development. It is the key of early childhood. Be it social, emotional, physical, cognitive or language skills. I am always incorporating it.
After my coop placements, it has basically second nature. I keep It positive reinforcement. My problem solving is always a respectful approach. I will never demean a child for misbehaving or even acting out. I always do my best to observe, empathize, an plan. Strategies are my thing. I will add them in play, in regular conversation, meal time, you name it. These are some of the ways I will be working with the children in my care.
Hygiene:
I have taken classes in George brown regarding this very topic. The professors were actually authors of many books regarding best practice for child hygiene. I am very well versed to say the least. Proper hand washing, cleanliness, and even a properly organized play area. The younger ones always find a way to make a lovely mess, but that's fine with me. I am always aware of the surroundings, keeping it safe, clear, cleaning as we go. With that, I love including the children to help. Sing songs, play games, pretty much anything to keep up the look.
Development:
I am an ECE and have had much practice with this. No matter how much fun and laughter or even silence, I always have something educational and strategic in the mix. Development is key in young ages, and I recognize this. Daily I can go over what we touched on In terms of development and learning. My training has given me so many tools to keep up even with research and all the facts along with the many ways to keep you 100 percent in the loop
Families:
Family is big. Any kind of family, doesn't matter, I love the partnership. I will be so committed to work alongside. If we differ in cultures religions what have you, I have been living a very diverse lifestyle my whole life so it's not even an issue to incorporate all that you want your child to be part of. All I ask is to have that line of communication, so all is heard. I am willing to change up certain practices of mine to fit exactly what you prefer. They are your children.
Myself:
As fun and energetic as I am. I do enjoy the serious and professional aspects. If your child needs homework done, or to go to the park, I can enjoy both and do my part that I promised to do. I am very big on encouraging play, creativity, academics, family, emotional and social development, and experience. You may catch me thinking outside of the box a lot.
