As a nursing student, I am eager to apply my formal education to a healthcare setting. I am currently a student at the University of Alberta in my third year of studies. I am applying for a position as an In-home Caregiver. I have had the opportunity to work in a Community setting, as well as an acute care setting, in which I learned many skills beyond basic activities of daily living, including, but not limited to complex dressing changes, IV therapy, injections, ostomy care, diabetic care and catheter care.

I have had the experience of providing full-time home care from April-August in both 2015 and 2016. In which I focused on activities of daily living and companionship, as well as cognitive and physical exercise.

As a potential employee, I hope to demonstrate my therapeutic communication skills, as I have a keen interest in working with older adults. By providing holistic care, I find caregiving to be very rewarding and fulfilling. I am always willing to put in extra effort to ensure the best work and am also available as a helping hand for anyone who may need it.
