About Me
I am a 24 year old graduated from the Early Childhood Education program at Conestoga College in Kitchener ON. I am currently in my fourth year at the University of Victoria in the Child and Youth Care program. I hope to work with children and families in a hospital as a Child Life Specialist one day. I have experience volunteering at Camp Hermosa (in Godrich ON) I have experience working in various daycares in Ontario as well. I love working with children and families, I strongly believe in building connections in the community. I love to read, and always incorporate
a love of reading into my play with kids. I volunteered with the Students for Literacy club at UVic, where once a week I would read with a "little buddy" to increase their reading skills and have fun. I love to bake with kids, do science experiments, build blanket forts, sing songs, read and invent new games. I am dependable, and I have an extensive list of references. I am always had positive experiences with the families I have worked with. I even have experience looking after children while parents are away on vacation or work trips for 3-5 days.
I am originally from Ontario, however I have moved to Victoria for school.
Please send me a message, and hopefully we can work something out!- Education: Some college

Endorsed: reliable, helpful, great with people
I met Melissa in 2014 when she was an early childcare educator intern at my son's childcare centre. My husband and I immediately noticed how calm and caring she was with all the children. So when her internship was up, we asked if she would take care of our son occasionally. Up until that point, our son would not stay with anyone besides us. But he adored Melissa. Our son literally cheers when he sees her coming! Melissa is very kind and respectful to children and has plenty of great books and games to share -- things that are precisely at the level of where our son is. She encourages active, educational fun. We really value her time. I strongly recommend Melissa to any family looking for professional, caring and respectful childcare for their little ones.
