I am 21 Year old graduating music student that will be studying Gerontology in fall 2015. I grew up in orleans, Ottawa where I went to school in french through elementary and high school.
Music has always been a huge part of my life, I have been taking piano lessons since the age of 5 and singing lessons since the age of 8. I have taught piano and plan on starting to teach singing upon my completion of a Bachelor honours in Music from Sir Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo where I have studied voice for the past 4 years.
I have been a Nanny for 3 children from April to August 2012 and would love to work with children again. As a nanny I took care of a 2, 5 and 6 year old as well as make meals, do laundry and clean the family home. I also taught the two eldest piano and am pleased to say that they continue to play to this day.
I spent the year of 2013-2014 studying music in Germany where I also learned to speak the language. While I was there, I would babysit a young German girl on the weekends. This experience gave me a whole new perspective on taking care of children from different cultures than my own.
Although I plan on specializing in Geriatrics I do also love work with Children.
I have volunteered or worked in Retirement/nursing homes for almost 10 years and have loved every moment of it.
I love to work with people and travel to experience new cultures and meet new people.
I am completing my degree and will be moving back to Ottawa into an apartment with my boyfriend of 4 years at the end of April. I will be free to work many hours as of that time until the school year begins. I would be happy continue but only part time seeing as my studies will be taking up some of my time.
