Bonjour, Being a companion to an elderly person is a great opportunity to learn from their life experiences. I enjoy to listen to their life stories. It's a great feeling when I am able to make an elderly person smile. I do understand that sometimes they become frustrated that they can no longer do things the way they used to do it or do things as fast as the way they used to. I am here to assist and do the things that they needed help with. I put myself into their situation that's why I came up with this Big realization that as a companion to an elderly person I must NEVER take away autonomy from them. Little and simple things they can do by themselves give them self esteem and make them feel good deep inside. I should be there to assist and give them the care that they need.
