I have been providing part time childcare for several families on the Saanich Peninsula for the past five years in addition to caring for my own 4 grand children ages 1 thru 7 from birth. I am active and love sharing my passion for nature with children of all ages. I travelled and homeschooled my young family for several years aboard our sailing vessel. I love to instil a sense of wonder and adventure and foster self reliance and ability in children. I love to teach children age and development appropriate skills in a very sequential manner so they can " do it by myself ". I embrace child led learning, with a whole learning approach that is fun and creative. I provide safe opportunities for children to explore their environment and expand their abilities and asses risk, allowing them to anticipate and safely experience natural consequences. I model compassion, understanding and love for ourselves and each other. I foster an environment that encourages recognition, expression and respect of the feelings and emotions, the needs and wants of the child. I am consistent with my expectations and reactions. I let children know what I need and want from them as well so that we can ALL have a good time!! To share, play fair, take turns, be gentle and kind, to have compassion for animals and our planet. I believe learning begins in the womb, and is life long, very young children even infants have a much greater capacity to understand then we realize. I get great joy from helping young families to obtain a healthy life balance that can exceed their expectations. I pride myself on being a good communicator, listening to your families needs and values and expressing my thoughts and ideas on how best to achieve Peace! Just knowing that you can go to work with assurance that your children will have a fun active stimulating day and that we will take care of your home.
