About Me
I am an energetic, caring 60 year old mother of two lovely grown daughters, looking to get back into working with kids! I have 10 years experience as a special education teacher (visually impaired, ESL and other disabilities) in elementary and secondary school. I also worked as a nanny for two children ages 1 and 3 for two full years. When raising my two girls, I worked with elderly individuals as a home care worker for Medox Home Care Services and privately. For the last several years, I have been working as an accounting assistant. However, my second daughter has inspired me to get back to my passion (working with children), since she started bringing the kids she nannies to our home on Saturdays, for the last two years. Those days have brought my great joy and fulfillment, and I would like to make such work full time and get back to my true calling.

I'm in a unique position with this review as I'm able to offer insight on both sides of Joanne's child care abilities. Joanne provided many fantastic hours of child care for me growing up-- from the time I was a toddler until I was old enough not to need supervision. I'm now fully grown with my own family, and Joanne has provided many hours of fantastic childcare for my son (who's now 6). Joanne is always a pleasure to interact with and is loved by the whole family. When I was growing up I always looked forward to the days spent with Joanne as I knew they'd be fun and full of energy. My son often asks me when they next time he'll get to see Joanne (JoJo) is, and whatever answer we give him it never seems to be soon enough. When it comes to childcare Joanne has the biggest heart you'll ever see paired with all the energy and attitude it takes to keep up with kids all day long. From playing with blocks, to cards and dominoes, to running and yelling at the park, Joanne is always right there keeping up with the kids. To round out the energy and playfulness Joanne has a strong sense of organization and structure coupled with a wicked sense of humor-- helping both children and employers know what to expect in the day to day and keeping a crooked grin on everyone's face. I can't recommend Joanne highly enough.
