About Me
Hello -
I’m Marina and I’m 26 years old and I'm from Brazil. I was born in 1990 in a very small town in September 27th, and I’ll complete my 27 years old soon – omg time flies!
I would describe myself as a bubbly person who is always smiling.
I believe I’m able to keep a calm and level head whenever I am in situation of stress. I would like to consider myself someone who can relate to anyone and any culture and background. I am willing to help anyone at any time! (but I do not like to be taken advantage of.)
I’m a creative thinker. I have an open mind about what will work best and I like to explore alternative solutions to problems.
I’m efficient, highly organized and always on time :)My family is composed by me, my mom and my brother. She is my model and inspiration. My mom created me to be a good person in all aspects. She taught me to think about others, to be polite and honest and to give the best I can in everything. Never give up and accept different ideas and cultures. My brother in 23, he is studying environmental engineering.
We respect and support us a lot and I’m very proud of them.I have a bachelor’s degree in Business with emphasis in Foreign Trade which I worked with it for 5 years before I come to the USA in January of 2015 with the awesome au pair program. Here I had the opportunity to take classes at New York University and Stanford. I also took english classes to improve my skills at Seton Hall University.
I always had a special connection with kids and so my first experience was in high school. I did volunteer work for two years in a child school. In the first year I was responsible for 15 kids who were between 5 and 6 years old, and in the second year with kids between 3 and 4 years old. I helped them with their hygiene, feeding, plays and school work. I taught them how to share things, to be polite, to draw and paint, eat by their own and, of course, in their education in general. It was incredible years, I not only taught them, they taught me too!
After High School while I was in College I kept babysitting on the weekends. Now more recently, starting in January 2015, with the au program here in the US I had two families. My first family lived close to NYC and I took care of Olivia (11y.) and Malcolm (13y.) for a year. My second family, for 8 moths, lives in the Silicon Valley, California, and I was responsible for Faaris (13y.) and Saim (7y.). I was really blessed with my last family and we are always in touch. I will be more than happy to give you my host mom contact for reference.
I had a absolutely great experience with the au pair program.
It allowed me to have new families, make new friends and experience new countries.
Because of the au pair program in the US, I’m aware of all responsibilities and duties that are necessary for it but also of all the good things that comes with it
And so, I would LOVE to have another opportunity, now in Canada!- Education: Graduate degree
