Hi families and Children,
My name is Emily and I am 21 years old, I currently study at the University of Calgary. I am currently in the process of transferring into the Nursing program, which allows me to obtain my Registers Nurse, and will allow me to continue to become a Nurse Practitioner. I am originally from Kenora, which is a small city in Northwestern Ontario. I have over seven years experience with working with children. I am highly skillful at communicating and coordinating with children at their level of understanding. I demonstrate excellent leadership skills, by setting examples and guiding others in a positive manner. In my past experience I have babysat children from the ages of newborns through the ages of 13 and also have experience working with children with disabilities. During the summer, I work through an employment program as a youth leader, here I assist youth in employment strategies, and finding them employment for the summer. I organize and facilitate workshops for the youth, covering life and employment skills in the communities. I also babysit for family and friends where I would be responsible for maintaining a safe environment, taking the children on outings, and other various duties including preparing, and feeding meals to the children, bathing and dressing the children, assisting them with daily actives and also overnight sittings.
