I have been caring for children since I was 11 years old. I am the oldest of 4, by 5 years and helped greatly with the youngest two from birth. As a teenager and through to adulthood, I held many full time babysitting and nanny jobs, which included weeks alone with the children. I assisted my teenage friend raise her first two daughters from infants to 5 and 6 years old; starting with babysitting to live-in, full-time help. I have helped families from 1-6 children of all ages; troubled foster children, a pre-teen with severe Aspergers syndrome and young twins. One of my first jobs was a summer contract with a developmental care facility, through all of these experiences I learned compassion and patience, as well as ensured that I was organized, responsible for well-being, money and time, and honest, active and open-minded.

I have been a lucky mother of a lovely little man, since 2005. He is my sunshine and it is remarkable to watch him grow and learn; this year we decided to try homeschooling/unschooling and unlock his talents so he can follow his future dreams.

My philosophy is sharing ideas and using the imagination, working with individual learning styles and personalities and being open to new experiences. I lead through listening and creative problem solving. I can remain calm and pleasant through confrontation and can asses and sooth emotions easily.

I have been a student of psychology my whole life and have learned, practiced and taught throughout my journey. I find human behavior fascinating and would consider myself a knowledgeable source.

Last but not least, in 2012 I graduated with honours from The Art Institute of Vancouver for Event Management. I believe this is important because the instruction received there sharpened my ability to clearly see the bigger picture, organize my thoughts, work with many types of people, calm under pressure and being assertive.
