Learned how to do pantomime learning strategy for fun and education with children. Pantomime can be used to reinforce book learning - like the biology of a tree and the water cycle - for example. My education courses, though not complete, were the most fun I've ever had. I had to quit due to health issues. Even though, I am an excellent student.

I have studied Mental Health and Addictions and now, more than ever, I see the importance of a healthy childhood in a person's resilience in life's struggles. Children are challenging in a beautiful way. If I can teach them to wash their hands thoroughly, how to maintain proper hygiene, learn and be critical learners so that they question everything, we will have a beautiful future if we tend carefully to our children. I believe in the intergenerational program, whereby seniors engage with young children and the relationship becomes mutually beneficial. We need our elders, too, to be actively socially engaged with all ages. We learn from them, too. In the meantime, I was an excellent student in my time and I hope to pass on that enthusiasm to the next generation.

I am now more prepared to care for children since I took over a year's worth of Elementary Education courses and have some learning strategies under my belt to encourage intellectual engagement in children no matter what they are doing or interested in. I relate well to children.

3 summers (12 months) babysitting my cousins 10 and 13 years younger than I. They turned out very well, thanks to their parents and I also don't mind taking a little teeny bit of credit for that either. I am very interested in engaging children to learn in life. I had two practicums in classrooms - one Gr. 7 and one G. 1 - both fairly successful, but I realized that I prefer small groups of children - say around 5 - because I want to give them my utmost attention.
