  • About Me

    Hello. :)

I am a 26 year old woman originally from Ontario. I moved out to Victoria to attend the University of Victoria and am hoping to eventually get my Masters in Social Work. I have been living in Vancouver since June 2014 and am happy to call this amazing city my home. For the past year and a half I have been working for an amazing organization (Elizabeth Fry Society) at a women & children's emergency homeless shelter. Working with vulnerable families has been both challenging and very rewarding.

As much as I have enjoyed this job I am really looking to take a break for the summer (potentially longer term) and work primarily with children. While my position allows me to work and organize activities with the children residing at my shelter, I tend to work more with their moms to access resources in the community and find affordable housing for their families.

Previous to my current position, I have a LOT of experience working with children :). I started babysitting when I was thirteen and then eventually moved onto being a daytime/ overnight camp counsellor with the YMCA. Before I moved out West I worked as a day care worker with the YMCA for my last year in high school. Once I began University I didn't have a lot of time to work, but in my final year I took up a part-time position at a day care centre at the Esquimalt Rec Centre in their Out of School Care program.

I would describe myself as a very passionate, energetic, and nurturing person who always looks out for the best interest of others. I love working with children and seeing the world through their eyes during outdoor excursions and creative play.

*I have my First Aid & CPR certification for children, Food Safe, can obtain a criminal record check and have a clean driving record (and vehicle).

Please contact me with any questions or concerns.

I look forward to hearing from you. :)

I have been working with children on and off since I was thirteen and began babysitting. I have been a camp counsellor (both part-time and full-time), have worked at two different day care facilities and currently work at a homeless shelter where I am able to work with families (and children) while their mothers seek counselling.

I have worked for two child care centres. One in Ontario with the YMCA and the other in Esquimalt, BC at their after school day care program.

    none :)
