To families who are looking for a nanny for their children! My name is Jessica and I love working with children! Ever since I was young I have always wanted to be a teacher, I am currently enrolled in the ECE program at Sheridan College and will be graduating this June 2014! But, recently I have changed my route as to what I want my career to be. I have applied to many schools through the Social Workers program. It took me a while to really figure out exaclty HOW I wanted to work with children and youth! I still want to work with them, teach them and interact with them, but on a more personal level! My current Job is for the YMCA SACC Before and After Care program, where I am placed in an Elementry School working with children from kindergaten to grade 6! I have had this job for almost 3 years now at the same school and I love it! I have had the priviladge to watch the children grow each year! Another thing that really touches me, is the amount of trust the children have built up towards me! Because I have been with them for so long, they are extreamly comfortable around me! Another reason why, is being I my self LOVE to be a kid! I love being goofy and silly with the children, but I know when it's time to be more serious. I was also fortunate to find a nanny job through this site last summer 2013, for a family of twins and it was a great experience! I was able to take them to parks, water parks, the zoo and also go swimming with them! Though mentioned in another section of my profile, I have had many opportunities outside of work to interact with children, through my church, placements through Sheridan College and also travelling to Peru for 2 weeks with Solidarity in Action to teach children! My up coming trip is to Hong Kong this May 2014 for a month to teach along side the teachers at LHK. I will be placed in a class room with children around the age 4-6 years old. I am looking forward to this trip as it will be a great experience along with it being my second opportunity to teach somewhere else in the world! Some of my interests are; music, art, photography and being outside! I concider myself about 99% right brain! I am a very creative individual and love anything to do with expressing oneself!
