Hello.
I studied Nursing in Kingston, ON and worked in the field for over 5 years. I have extensive experience working with children, toddles, infants and newborns. I am seeking a nanny position because I love working with children. and greatly enjoy watching and being a part of their growth and development.
Just to tell you a little about myself, I was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Canada. I come from a family of 6 children. Since the age of 9 I have been greatly involved in the care of my younger siblings and have extensive experience caring for children of various ages. Since the age of 12 I have been providing babysitting and nanny services to individuals in my community. I have also acquired extensive child care experience due to my roles as a camp councillor, volunteering in our church nursery and with youth groups.
I have worked as a nurse for over 5 years and I have greatly enjoyed all the different mediums of nursing that I have been able to experience. I have a real passion for helping people and genuinely enjoy being around children. I honestly believe that fostering the sense of wonderment in children and helping them learn and grow is one of the most amazing, wonderful and sometimes scary things one can do with ones life.
Until recently I was working at a private paediatric nurse for a boy who was born with medical complications. In my role I am was committed to following the lead of the parents when providing care, although I am eager to share my knowledge when asked. I took care of any medical needs that he requires as well as caring for his day-to-day needs. I entertained him with educational indoor/outdoor play, we attended music and play groups, and I attended doctor/hospital appointment and documented daily activities for medical review. I am experienced in taking sole care of young children, and I have the patience, compassion and knowledge to support both the parents and the children that are in my care.
I am always eager to help and gladly enjoy offering any extra help that the family may request of me. I am also very observant and happily enjoy doing any extra things that I am capable of doing to make the life of the parents and child more easy, happy and enjoyable. I have excellent written and verbal communication and I greatly enjoy working in partnership with parents to provide the best and most positive care to the children I am responsible for. I am a very quick learner, and I am fully committed to continuing my education and providing evidence based care. I have current First Aid and CPR, a clear Criminal Record Check, and remained registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Care and safety are the highest priority to me, and confidentiality is of upmost importance.
I am passionate about engaging with children without the use of screens and take advantage of good weather to take the kids outside to play and learn. I greatly enjoy creating educational and fun activities for children and taking them on outings to play and learn. I am well travelled and greatly enjoy learning about different cultures. I have worked in England and Spain as an Au Pair and I have experience with children of all ages and working with multiples.
I am very passionate about providing great care to the child I am responsible for and I believe I would be a great asset to your family.
