My name is Katie . I am 20 years old and have recently completed my second year of study in the Bachelor of Arts in History program at Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. I am originally from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia where I lived with my mother, father my younger sister and younger brother.
I have a very outgoing personality. I am very caring and have lots of patience, especially when working with children. I am a very hard worker and enjoy completed tasks effectively. I have a very strong work ethic and take a lot of pride in anything that I do. I am a good listener and am able to communicate effectively with both children and adults. My hobbies include: Music (piano), reading cheerleading and travelling.
I have a great deal of experience working with children of all ages. This includes multiple years of caring for my younger siblings, as well as caring for children in other families. In the summer of 2014, I worked as a day camp leader for children ages 5-14, my duties in this job included planning and organizing themed activities (tons of fun crafts and baking ideas. ) while also insuring that the children were in a fun and safe environment
This past school year I was also a volunteer for Acadia University's S. M. I. L. E Program which allowed me to work one on one with children who have special needs. This volunteer experience was especially rewarding for me as I plan to apply to an Education program and hopefully specialize in children with special needs after the completion of my undergraduate degree.
