I come from a small town and very nice family. I am a graduate of the Child and Youth Worker Advanced Diploma Program at Humber College as well as the Bachelor of Child and Youth Care Degree porgram. I am interested in working with kids, photography, scrap booking, and making a difference in the lives of young people and their families.
I am a hard worker who is flexible and adjustable. I have experience working with children and youth from the age of 0-25. My experience has been in the school system, group homes, babysitting, the shelter system, youth custody, mentoring, residential, and day camp settings.
My qualifications include : Understanding and managing aggressive behavior, safety awareness and intervention, suicide alertness, understanding diversity, human rights training, accessibility for Ontarians, anger management facilitation, therapeutic alliance and adventure programming, collaborative problem solving, applied suicide intervention skills training, motivational interviewing, high five principles of healthy child development, standard first Aid and CPR/AED level C, and accessibility training.
Although this list qualifies me to work as a Child and Youth Worker in many different places, I prefer to work 1-1 with children to truly get to know them and help them succeed.
