My name is Rachael . I am currently a fourth year student at Brock University, working towers my bachelor of education degree alongside my child and youth degree through the Concurrent Education program. For as long as I can remember, I have loved working with children and youth. For two summers, I worked as a camp counsellor at an Easter Seals camp, working with children, youth and young adults with special needs. Following those summers, I worked for the Town of Whitby camps as an inclusion one on one camp counsellor for children with autism, various physical disabilities and genetic disorders. While I am at school, I am a service worker for a family with three children with multiple disabilities. For that family, I am a caretaker and often perform light cleaning and cooking duties. I am also currently working for the Niagara Catholic School Board as an international program assistant. I take international students on trips to various places such as Niagarw Falls, Toronto, Barrie for skiing, etc to immerse them in the Canadian culture. I decided this was something I would like to do, after travelling to Peru as a volunteer teacher in 2012. I am extremely interested in working with children and youth this summer as a caretaker- please do not hesitate to message me if you have any questions.
