Hi there.
My name is Erika and I am a second year student at the University of Victoria studying child and youth care which right off the bat shows my interest and devotion to children. I thoroughly love the Child and Youth Care program. I am continuously learning new things about people of all ages, intricate aspects of the human being that I need to pay attention to, and the variety of techniques to handle different situations. For me, I want to work hard towards my degree and becoming a nanny is a step in the right direction.
I always enjoy keeping busy whether that be going for a run, hiking a mountain, going exploring with friends, playing soccer intramurals, or planning a road trip, I like to utilize all of my energy as much as I can. In other words, I have no problem running around with little kids in the backyard or at the park and engaging in their imaginative adventures of rescuing the princess from the highest tower. However, as fun as these activities can be, one thing that is very important to me is that I adopt the same rules and expectations for the children that the parents have. The last thing I want is for the children to have two completely contradicting lifestyles when with the parents and when with myself. So before I would begin anything, making sure I understand the parents preferred parenting styles and beliefs is essential to me.
I am a very well-rounded and optimist individual with a personality that shines through and cannot wait to be your nanny.
