Hi my name is Teresa I am 44 y. o. I came in Canada 2004 from Philippines and now a Canadian citizen. I finished college with diploma back home (Bachelor of Science in Nursing (1992) with license.. Unfortunately I didn't practice my profession.. I came here under the Live in Care giver Program worked with family of four, 2 kids ages 3-5 y. o that time.. I finished my contract with them (2008) and exited with good employer employee relationship. I considered them as my first foreign family.
When I received my open work permit, I started working in a restaurant Yonge-Bloor as a server cashier at the same time I am also doing a volunteer work as a cashier at Women's College Hospital ANHK gift shop. I worked at the restaurant for 2 yrs. ( 2008-2010) and did my volunteer job for 3 yrs.
Unfortunately the restaurant was closed by the owner (2010).. Luckily I able to find a job at one of the high end Fine Foods / Grocery here in Toronto same year.. Due to my full time schedule and was new in this job I need to give up my volunteer work. Now I am already more than 4 yrs here in my job, I can now request for some days schedule to work as a part time.
I am looking for a part time job (baby sitting) on those night that I posted ( occasional is acceptable ). I am available evenings starting at 5pm (depending on the location).
I am good in handling kids at any age, making sure they are safe. I can take care of them (whatever there needs).. I have no problems playing with them, pick -up at school or in any extra activities they have ( as long as it is accessible to transportation TTC. Walk them at the park, doing play dates with other children or any other kids interactions.
I can prepare/cook simple dinners, give them a bath, tuck them in bed and read short bed time stories before bed time.. I can easily follow instruction from my employer.
If the kids are toddler and above I prefer 2-3 children only.. if it is 1 yr. below I prefer as much as possible only one. Pet is not a problem. specially dogs.
As much as possible I prefer if the location is accessible to public transit (TTC) since I don't drive.
Late night babysitting can be negotiated. No sleep over..
